• You hear a metallic pop or snap when the gate reverses direction. A crack in a frame weld opens and closes as the gate changes load direction. The pop is the two sides of the weld slamming back together. That crack won’t close itself.
• The gate drags a groove into the driveway at the far end of travel. The slide gate track bracket bolts have ovaled out or the bracket weld has failed, dropping the gate onto the wheel wrong.
